Aaj ki vishesh khabar?

In Kings Cross news, it's been a busy day. Has it?
Happy Birthday to Bhasha, for starters. Makes me go back to last year this time, when we were all in a rush to grand-ify birthdays and occasions, basically just have an excuse not to be doing what we should have been doing. Or maybe that was the time to lighten up, but this year just seems more sombre.

The parties are more intimate, with people we definitely know much better, everything seems so relaxed and put-together. It sort of all flows together, barring long threads of plans altered due to the large number of people congregating for movies! In all seriousness though, it's a serious time. Co-incidence?

I have been just dandy after my almost-tryst with sickness. Needless to say, the much touted haldi doodh was skillfully avoided (though the occasion wasn't grave enough to merit it or perhaps the perpetrator of said threat kinder or just more tired than usual) though naani waaley aalloo made by the alloo queen were much appreciated. archit's chai and numerous hilariously-confusingly-flabbergasting assertions punctuated by mad's attempts at deciphering their (in)sanity and meaning also did not go unnoted. also, aproop's uncanny knack for knowing when giddiness enveloped me or sarab's remonstrations to aproop for not carrying water at such occasions (!) also elicited laughter interspersed with awwws.
ha ha, for all the mothering i've been accused of, it just felt great to be pampered in turn. i guess i do it more often than is generally solicited, though!

Hope the others have their things and plans sorted out, hope someone in India kicks Abhimanyu for ignoring me and hope Koko out there in Singapore sends me another "bhool gayee mujhe saali" message soon! Guns, your letter is eagerly awaited; and Juna, yours is on its way.

For more updates, same time, same show. Shubh ratri!

  1. Yes, things have changed quite drastically, for the better or worse is doubtful to a certain extent.
As far as 'sick surra' is concerned, that's something out of the ordinary. Given that we have so often been showered by your attention especially in times of sickness, it seems only natural to behave likewise. Sadly enough, the fact that we deprived you of haldi-doodh in your most trying times, brings to light our incapability to reach the standard as set by yours truly. Much work has to be done :-)
